Let's Create Timnath's Future!

Our last Comprehensive Plan update was in 2020, but a lot has changed in just a few short years. Timnath has welcomed new homes, new businesses, and more people who are proud to call this place home. As we grow, we want to make sure we're planning in a way that protects what people love about Timnath - while setting the stage for a strong, thoughtful future.

This update gives us the chance to look at things a little differently. We're taking a fresh look at our land use designations to better reflect the character of different parts of Timnath. Rather than using traditional land use categories, we're shifting to a typology-based approach that provides more clarity about the intended look, feel, and function of each area - from neighborhoods and commercial corridors to mixed-use centers and open spaces. This approach will help ensure future development fits the context of each place and supports the kind of community we want to see over time.

We're also taking a closer look at economic development and the look and feel of our town -- things like how we attract the right kinds of businesses, how our neighborhoods and gathering places feel, and how we make Timnath even more welcoming, connected, and distinctly ours.

The updated Comprehensive Plan will guide big decisions in the years ahead -- from development and infrastructure to parks and housing. But most importantly, it's a plan shaped by the people who live and work here.
