Timnath Ranch Park
Timnath Ranch Park, also known as Peanut Park, is envisioned as a new kind of park experience for Timnath.
Inspired by the mountains to the west and the native prairie that surrounds the community, the master plan brings the character of Colorado’s landscape into the park through recreation, gathering spaces and opportunities to connect with nature. The vision is to create a park with an identity all its own, offering new experiences for teens and tweens while complementing the parks and recreation opportunities already available throughout Timnath.

Community input helped shape several guiding ideas for the park, including creating a destination for teens and tweens, connecting surrounding neighborhoods, integrating stormwater into the park experience, embracing a naturalistic setting and introducing experiences that complement Timnath’s other parks.
Explore the Concept
Inspired by Colorado’s landscape, the concept brings together landform, water, native vegetation, recreation and gathering spaces to give Timnath Ranch Park its own identity.
Some highlights include:
- Teen Grotto: A destination focused on teen and tween recreation, with opportunities for play, movement, gathering and retreat.
- The Arroyo: A reimagining of the park’s central drainageway that combines stormwater infrastructure with the overall park experience.
- Land Bridge: A signature feature that extends the prairie landscape into the park with native and pollinator plantings.
- Bicycle Experiences: A mix of riding opportunities for varying ages and abilities, including pump tracks and a bicycle safety garden.
- Nature and Discovery: An expanded pond, outdoor discovery area and native landscapes provide opportunities to experience the park’s wetland, riparian and prairie environments.
- Gathering and Connections: Trails, lawn areas, picnic spaces and a promenade create places to gather while connecting the park with surrounding neighborhoods.
A Closer Look
Concept sketches show how several of the park’s signature spaces could come together, including the Waterfall Boulder Terrace, Arroyo drainage channel and Land Bridge.
The concept represents the current vision for Timnath Ranch Park. Individual features and designs may continue to evolve as the master planning process moves forward.
