May 2026 Update
Since the project began, the team has made steady progress across data collection, analysis, and early engagement efforts, including:
- Coordinating with the Police Department to compile and analyze a comprehensive database of traffic crashes, which will serve as the foundation for identifying trends and high-risk locations
- Developing mapping tools, GIS layers, and analysis frameworks to better understand existing and potential safety concerns across Timnath’s transportation network
- Launching the project webpage and interactive map, providing residents with an accessible way to share feedback and identify locations of concern
- Conducting early outreach through community events and digital communications to begin gathering public input
- Presenting to Town Council and facilitating an interactive work session to gather initial input on safety priorities, focus areas, and the overall vision for the plan
In addition to broader community outreach, the project team has initiated stakeholder engagement through the Safety Action Plan Advisory Committee. The first committee meeting was held in April 2026 and included representatives from Town Council, local agencies, schools, and community organizations. The committee will meet a total of three times throughout the project to provide input, review progress, and help guide development of the plan.
Together, these efforts are helping to build a strong foundation of data, community input, and stakeholder perspectives that will inform the next phase of analysis and strategy development.
