CR 5 Bridge

The existing CR 5 bridge over Cache La Poudre River was constructed in 1997 as a two-lane structure. The current average traffic is 7,600 vehicles per day and is projected to increase to 18,500 by 2045. Widening the bridge structure or possibly replacing the bridge will be needed to accommodate the additional traffic demand. Furthermore, portions of the CR 5 roadway are currently within the floodplain and can experience overtopping during major storm events. Upgrades to the bridge and construction of a more resilient CR 5 will ensure that the structure and roadway remains intact during future floods.
