The Town of Timnath Parks and Recreation is organizing pickleball leagues this spring! Leagues are open to resident pickleballers and their non-resident guests. Register here.

Leagues are two hours one time each week for six weeks. Depending on interest in these initial leagues, leagues for other skill levels and categories, e.g., beginners, advanced, and gender-specific, may be held later in the spring and/or summer. Please let us know your interest level so that we can create more leagues that work for you! Take this short survey and share with your fellow pickleball friends.

In which league do I belong?

Hint: If you lose most games against 3.5 players, you should register in 2.5 to 3.0; if you win occasionally against 3.5 players, you should register in 3.0 to 3.5.

2.5 players know the basic rules, including scoring; can hit a forehand and backhand with direction; are usually accurate in serving; are able to play the soft game, i.e., dink occasionally; and are beginning to understand court positioning and strategy.

3.0 players can consistently serve, return and sustain a rally with a player of similar skill level; understand court positioning and strategy; hit with varying pace and shot placement; and actively seek to play the soft game, i.e., dink, when possible.

3.5 players have consistency in shots like dinks and drop shots; can sustain lengthy rallies; understand the importance of moving quickly to the non-volley zone; have a good grasp of basic shot placement with both forehand and backhand; and are advanced in shot variations and strategic play.

  • CALLING ALL PICKLEBALLERS!

The Town of Timnath Recreation Department is interested in organizing pickleball leagues if there is sufficient interest, so please reply to this survey and tell your pickleballing friends to do the same.

Initially, leagues for adults (21 and over), for mixed men and women for two different skill levels (2.5 to 3.0 players  and 3.0 to 3.5 players—see below for description of skill levels) will play at Community Park, two hours one time each week for six weeks starting in April. If successful, leagues for other skill levels and categories, e.g., beginners, advanced, gender-specific, may be held later in the spring and summer.

The following survey questions will help the town determine pickleball players' interest, skill level, and preferred days/times. If you would like more information or have questions, email League Director Phil Goldstein, pgoldstein@timnathgov.com.
