The 2026 proposed budget is built to reflect what matters most to our community: maintaining core services, guiding responsible growth, and planning for the future. While the Town Council has not yet adopted this draft, it lays out how we intend to invest in infrastructure, operations, and strategic priorities. We encourage everyone to review the proposal and provide feedback by November 1 below.
Here are a few highlights:
- The budget assumes a 20% reduction in building-related revenue and permit fees for 2026, reflecting changing development trends.
- To balance priorities, the Town may issue up to $14 million in debt in 2027- primarily to support infrastructure and capital projects.
- Current projections maintain that recurring revenues will exceed recurring expenditures through 2030, helping preserve financial stability.
- Long-term projections also include shifting sales tax transfers when certain district financing expires (e.g., TIF/TDA) and introducing a GID mill levy in 2026 to support developer-related debt.
- The formal budget review process by Council begins on November 11, with opportunities for additional public comment and a final adoption on December 9.
